The first week of the traditional night library will take place this year from 9 to 13 December, when students can study in the library until midnight. In January, you can visit the night library for three weeks.
While in previous years the night library has started in January, this year it will start a month earlier, because many subjects have exams in December. “Last year, we received feedback from students that they would like to study longer in December. Let’s try it! We are pleased that the night library is still a popular and beloved initiative among students,” said Renar Kihho, chairman of the University of Tartu Student Union. If there are enough students studying in December this year, the opening week of the night library can be organised before the holidays in the following years as well.
Last year, a morning library was also tested, where students could go and study as early as six in the morning. “There were early students, but rather few. This experience showed that students still prefer to acquire knowledge in the evenings,” said Olga Einasto, Head of Library Services of the University of Tartu Library.
The Night Library, organised by the University of Tartu Student Union together with the library, is open from 9 to 13 December and from 6 to 24 January. During this time, you can study in the library from 09:00 to 00:00 on weekdays and from 12:00 to 18:00 on weekends.
The Night Library is supported by A. Le Coq.
