The University of Tartu organised the largest number of international conferences in Tartu last year, and 13 of them won recognition.

The committee formed by the University of Tartu Student Union chose the recipients of the teaching staff of the year awards for 2024.

In the week leading to the anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, the University of Tartu announced the recipients of the university's contribution to society award, research award and language award, and the teaching staff of the year award.

On 21 February at 14, university members were invited to the ceremony and concert dedicated to the 107th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia in the university’s assembly hall.

Today, on 21 November, at 16:00, Rector Toomas Asser presented the university’s honorary decorations at the ceremony in the assembly hall.

On 25 October, the University of Tartu senate decided to award the University of Tartu Grand Medal to Professor of International Business Urmas Varblane. Also, the recipients of the University of Tartu Star of Appreciation, Medal, Badge of Distinction and the decoration “100 Semesters at the University of Tartu” have been announced.

Until 31 October, nominations can be submitted for the “Contribution to Estonian National Identity” award.

Nominations can be submitted via the web form until 20 September.

This year 376 students received their bachelor’s and master’s diplomas. 57 students graduated cum laude.
